A voluntary recall has been issued for the popular painkiller, Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 10mg/500mg, manufactured by Watson Labrotories, Inc. Complaints that the pills were a darker, heavier shade than usual lead to the discovery that the medication contains higher levels of Acetaminophen and narcotic than normal. Overdosing Acetaminophen has a high risk of liver damage, especially in people who drink 3 or more alcoholic beverages a day. The effected pills were distributed from 6/27/12 to 7/18/12 and have “Watson 540” on one side of the tablet. No injuries have been reported, but the danger to the liver would be hard to detect.
